The Owners

We first visited Portugal about 25 years ago when our children were young. It was a cheap second holiday in the October school half term.  The apartment wasn’t in the best of locations and the weather was mixed with plenty of short showers, so as sunbathing was out of the question we spent our time walking for miles getting to know the area.  What we saw and experienced we fell in love with. The area had everything we wanted in a holiday, having younger children it was comforting to know that there were local health centers should the need arise and the locals were extremely  helpful and friendly which put us at ease and feeling safe.

We therefore decided that the Algarve was definitely going to be our main holiday for the next year but in a better location and in the main season.

So our love affair with the Algarve began. We stayed in various apartments and got to know the area like the back of our hand, traveled up and down the coast but always preferred the area near the strip, it had all the facilities we needed to entertain the children.  Beautiful beaches, nearby supermarkets, great places to eat up and down the strip where we got to know the waiters who would recognize us year after year, although the strip has changed a lot over the years and perhaps 25 years on its more for the younger generation.  If we fancied something a little different then a walk into the old town of Albufeira, where you can be entertained by street performers and browse the many quaint shops down the cobbled street that all lead onto the main square.

Our dream, as the years went by was to eventually buy our own apartment. Now that retirement is only round the corner we decided to take the plunge and live our dream and we believe that barracuda ticks all the boxes.
