Quinta De Barracuda

Albufeira was once a sleepy fishing village that has been transformed into an impressive holiday destination with beautiful beaches, historical sites and meandering streets with lively shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Whether you’re looking for the chance to experience some traditional Portuguese cuisine or just spend the week relaxing away from the office, Albufeira is one of the best places to do so.

It is made up of two main areas, the Strip and the Old Town, both of which are worth experiencing.  The Strip is the main area of bars and restaurants where you are bound to bump into lots of other Brits. The atmosphere is friendly and there are a wide range of restaurants offering everything from cheap fast-food to more pricey gourmet meals.

The Old Town is an area just back from the main beach, with narrow streets and an abundance of small shops, bars and restaurants for you to discover away from the bustle of the Strip.  There are some excellent restaurants offering a wide variety of fresh seafood such codfish, prawns, crab, fish, and lobster.

Albufeira boasts 30 km’s of stunning and diverse coastline from rocky cliffs with secluded coves to sweeping stretches of golden sands.  The main beach in Albufeira is the Praia do Peneco, which can be reached through a tunnel from the Old Town. There are also some quieter beaches outside the center of the resort such as Balaia and Praia de Gale where you can relax away from the crowds or try your hand at water sports.

Our apartment is ideally located for a peaceful family holiday with all the excitement of the resort center just a short stroll away.

A great holiday in a fanrtastic location! We were never short of something to do. The beaches were golden and the kids over the go kart race tracks.”
